Test Procedure

How to install your test environment

This procedure describes all the steps required to create and use a TEST environment allowing secure file exchanges before going into production.

1 – Requesting a TEST account

The first step is to request a test account. This ensures that TEST files can be exchanged without affecting production flows.

  • The test ID starts with TST, followed by the 5-digit broker/agent code, and ends with 1.
  • The BDI identifier always contains 9 characters.

To request a TEST account, contact CESAM – IT Department:

  • Phone: 01 58 56 96 34 or 01 58 56 96 35

2 – Generating the encryption key

Once your test identifier is validated, you must generate an encryption key pair using the connection kit.

After generating the keys:

  • Send the public key to the CESAM IT department.
  • Follow the procedure described in the kit documentation.
  • Important: back up the GNUPG folder before generating any new keys.

3 – Receiving the identifier and password

After receiving your public key, your TEST BDI account will be created. Your login password will be sent by email.

4 – Using the TEST account

Your TEST environment is now operational. To ensure everything works correctly:

  • Send files to yourself to check formatting.
  • If files are returned with ERROR, a .LOG file will indicate the issues found.
  • Send files to TEST accounts of partner companies.
  • Send files to CESAM TEST account: TST000001.

Warning: Never send a TEST file (TSTxxxxx) to a production account (CIExxxxx, COUxxxxx, AGTxxxxx).

Testing flows with a partner or with CESAM

  • Define the test perimeter with the partner or CESAM.
  • Keep your TEST public/private keys and password.
  • If the keys are lost, restart at step 2.

Technical configuration

  • Indicate TEST identifiers in the header (type 1111111111).
  • Use BDI000001 public key for encryption.
  • Sign with your TEST key (--encrypt --default-key TSTXXXXX1 --sign --recipient BDI000001).
  • Send via FTP to TSTXXXXX1/emission.
  • The file will appear in the recipient’s reception directory.

For tests as a lead underwriter:

  • Send files to TST000001.
  • Email CESAM indicating which files must be processed and to whom they must be distributed.

The EDI service is reserved for actors in the Marine Insurance Market.
